What to know about the Ortur Laser Master 3

Two work areas

The 10W has 400 × 400 mm; the 20W and 40W have 400 × 380 mm. The preset is the 10W: on a 20W or 40W, change Y to 380 mm.

Files for the TF card

Ortur's controller runs files from a TF card as well as over USB. Download the G-code from Burn Studio and copy it across.

Test before you burn

Run Burn Studio's power and speed grid on a scrap of your material, pick the square you like and save it as a material preset.

Setup

From box to first burn

Burn Studio makes the G-code. A sender runs it: LaserGRBL (free, Windows), LightBurn, or Surfacecraft itself over USB with Pro. Wear the glasses that came with your laser.

    Create a free account Open Burn Studio in your browser. Nothing to download.

    Add your laser Pick the Ortur Laser Master 3 preset and set the work area to 400 × 400 mm (10W), 400 × 380 mm (20W and 40W); up to 400 × 850 mm with Ortur's extension kit.

    Make a design Draw shapes and text or import an SVG. Give each one Line (score), Fill (engrave) or Cut.

    Find your settings Run the power and speed test grid on scrap, pick the square you like and save it as a material preset.

    Download and run Focus the laser, zero where the file's header says and run it in your sender.
