Carve it, burn it, cut it out. One project.
Pocket a coaster in Cut, click the Burn tab and laser a ring round the monogram on the same stock, then cut it out. One project holds the router, laser and pen work, in one run order, across one machine or several.
Cut, Burn and Plot. Works with GRBL routers, diode lasers and pen plotters you already own.No second project. No drawing it twice.
Draw in one studio
Start in Cut, Burn or Plot as you always have. The stock and the zero point belong to the project, not the studio.
Click another studio's tab
Its editor opens on the same stock with your other work faded and locked, to draw against. Pick a laser or pen operation and you're done.
Get one run order
Clearing first, then laser and pen detail, then through-cuts last. Cut holds the cut-out back so the graphic is burned before the part comes loose.
Every step says what to do before it.
A bit change, a tool change or a move to another machine: each step tells you what to fit and where to zero, in plain words.
Zero every tool on the same corner of the stock. After a tool change, the start check asks you to zero every axis again, so nothing runs on an old zero.

01 · Cut
Pocket the monogram 1/4" end mill · router Zero X, Y and Z on the bottom left corner.
-
02 · Burn
Laser the ring graphic Laser module · same router Take off the router and fit the laser module. Zero X and Y on the same corner, then focus the laser.
-
03 · Cut
Cut out the coaster 1/4" end mill · router Fit the router again. Zero X, Y and Z on the same corner.
A router here, a laser there. Still one project.
Your machines don't have to come from one brand. Each studio's work goes to the machine that carries the tool, and the run order says when to move the piece.
Every step in one download
Each file is made by its own studio for its own machine, numbered in run order, with a README grouped by machine.
"Next" knows the next machine
When a step finishes, the console offers the next one. If it belongs to another machine, it opens that studio's tab with the step set up.*
Wrong machine, wrong tool: caught
Every file names its machine and tool, so the start checks stop a laser file from running on the router.**
* On the next machine, zero X and Y on the same corner of the stock. Easier ways to line up are coming soon. ** The checks are supported by our controller. Machines without it can still run the files, but will not check the machine and tool.
Jobs that used to be two projects
Coasters and signs
Pocket the letters, laser the detail, cut it out. One machine with a laser module, or two machines.
Thick stock a diode can't cut
Engrave 12 mm oak with the laser, then let the router do the cut-out.
Draw, then knife
The pen draws the lines, then the drag knife cuts the outline. Same project, a head change between them.
Questions
Cut, Burn and Plot. Open any project, click a studio tab, and that studio's work joins the same stock. PCB keeps its own editor for now; a PCB tab is next on the list.
No. A router with a laser module is one machine with a tool change. A router and a separate diode laser or pen plotter are two machines: the run order says when to move the work, and the zip has each machine's files.
Each step tells you what to fit and where to zero. After a tool change, or a move to another machine, you zero X and Y on the same corner of the stock as before, and the start check asks for every axis again. Easier ways to line up are coming soon.
Not across studios yet. The order is worked out for you: clearing first, then laser and pen detail, then through-cuts last. Inside Cut you can still reorder your own operations.
